Rise Associates has completed a consultation that will give local people a major say in the future of West Bromwich market hall. The market has a long history in this West Midlands town but, in recent years, it's fallen into decline.

Despite this, there was clearly an emotional pull towards the market and people valued it as a local institution. However, they were clear that it had to change and there was a clear appetite to create an intergenerational, multi-purpose space that could assume a powerful role as a genuine community hub with something for everyone.

With Sandwell Council having secured £25million through the Towns Fund, plans will now be taken forward to deliver a new indoor market.
